GLENN BECK - THE COLLEGE DROPOUTS -

GLENN BECK - FORMER MASTERMINDS OF MYTH

These fellows represent part of the propaganda division of the Republican party and surprisingly other than paychecks, and frequent appearances on FOX news (the distribution hub for propaganda) they share something more importantly on their resumes.  A lack of education, failed in college, dropped out,  which proves good scriptures and handlers can make anyone shine for a while.

NUTCASE ***PERSONIFIED***

Glenn Beck is dangerous, argues Media Matters' Eric Boehlert in The Huffington Post. Since 2009, the Fox News "host" has used his bully pulpit to foment fears of a "nefarious cabal" of progressive organizations that are supposedly "determined to destroy democracy in America."

Earlier this month, Beck's rabble-rousing rhetoric led Byron Williams, a "government-hating, gun-toting nut," to stock a pickup truck with guns and ammo, and set off on a crusade to "open fire" at the offices of the Tides Foundation, a California non-profit. Fortunately, Williams was pulled over by the state police en route.

The sad truth is we're going to see more like Byron Williams. We're going to see more attempts at vigilante violence during the Age of Obama simply because the right-wing media, led by Beck, continue to gleefully (albeit irresponsibly) stoke dangerous fires with the kind of relentlessly incendiary rhetoric that has no match in terms of modern day, mainstream use in American politics or media....

Arson is like Beck, he provides the fuel and all it takes is a match, a believer and bad happens.  Congresswoman Gabrielle Dee "Gabby" Giffords was wounded by a head shot and six died.  We knew it would happen, we just didn't know where.

GLEN BECK, CFM (Certified Fear Monger)

Born: 10-Feb-1964, in Seattle, WA.
Religion: Mormon
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Education:  High School
Occupation: TV Personality, Radio Personality
Party Affiliation: His own
State of Mind: Borderline Psychotic
Affiliations: NAZI tendencies and admiration, exemplification and usage

New to the scene, and in bed with FOX VIEWS, NOT NEWS, with supposed recent freedom from drug and alcohol abuse, Glen Beck is infatuated with, himself first, and then draws parallels with the Nazi's.  Let me clarify, I don't believe he is a NAZI sympathizer.  He is however a NAZI glorifier.  He just uses them a lot because they infuriate people barely misleading his point missing the jack boots and garish uniforms.    He goes into these fits and sessions where even Goebbels would be proud.

He is on a fast track and already has earned a paltry 32 million dollars this year doing his thing.  It’s easy to try to explain him, obviously those drugs he took had long time retention and today he’s nuttier than ever.  But there are those who "relish nut cases as we say because they are in the same pickle". They hear what they want to hear, blame the other guy and they are fulfilled. For some the rhetoric is the same and it is like a fix.

But he is also sharp as a tack and knows how to instigate, infuriate and irritate enough to make good money at it. He’s also hard to write about because you would be endorsing his untruths. Just looking around the web I found a myriad of his worst comments and acts by many others who see through him.  Frankly he isn’t worth the time, there are enough shock jocks out there.

BEST DESCRIPTION - COMMUNITY DISORGANIZER

But his survival this long makes me worry about the state of mind of some of our citizens in his audience.  And it’s a different kind of audience, possibly a few intelligent ones out there in the mix,  but as the placards and signs indicated they might get smoked by fifth graders.  Especially at the last TEA PARTY facade where 2 of 5 placards were spelled wrong or had bad conventions.  Racial overtones and something you would expect at a KKK convention.

He constantly makes reference to the Nazi's, 142 times last year on his shows.  He compares them to the current administration. This really does little, unless you got a lot of extra white bedsheets and traffic cones with eyeholes cut out.  But they do hurt those who don't need to be reminded of what those bastards did.  I grew up knowing much of my elders had tattoos on their arms.  Those references belong in the Holocaust Museums not talk radio nor TV parading around in NAZI uniforms. It serves him well.

He is just another ex-alcoholic druggie using shock jock. He came from radio and does have appeal to the FOX crowd of anti-anything.  He is typical of Herr Rupert Murdoch’s clone and agitator partisans known as the ANAL-ists because all they spew is XXXX.   Adding wire-tapping and other devious methods of business like paying for news and creating it when it doesn't exist.

STEVEN COLBERT
Known to say anything, even despicable thoughts, he was tackled by the super funny and very intelligent Steven Colbert. Colbert took a shot at him about one of his tirades in 2005.  Colbert used a classic "Daily Show" tactic, exposing the hypocrisy of Beck's 9-12 project by highlighting comments he made on September 9, 2005.

Beck’s quote was "This is horrible to say, and I wonder if I'm alone in this," Beck said on his radio program that day, "you know it took me about a year to start hating the 9/11 victims' families?  I don't hate all of them. I hate probably about 10 of them. But when I see a 9-11 victim family on television, or whatever, I'm just like, 'Oh, shut up!' I'm so sick of them because they're always complaining. And we did our best for them."

On another show Colbert summed it up in a unique way. "He said, 'Let's start doing some Glenn Beck stuff but in praise of Glenn Beck,'" said Colbert. "But every time we do one, he will have done something dumber. He raised the stupid bar and now it's nearly inapproachable."  "I worry that if we use that as a model...if somebody doesn't believe what they're saying, it's very hard to out-stupid them," said a decidedly analytical Colbert. "Because then there's no place to sink our hook into, there's no mountain to climb there. I can't climb Glenn Beck since there's nothing there."

GLEN BECK COMMENTARY  (ABYSMAL DRIVEL)

2003  - “Every night I get down on my knees and pray that Dennis Kucinich will burst into flames.”
2005 - "I'm thinking about killing Michael Moore, and I'm wondering if I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it."
2005 - "When I see a 9/11 victim family on television, or whatever, I'm just like, 'Oh shut up' I'm so sick of them because they're always complaining."
2005 - “The only Katrina victims we’re seeing on television are the scumbags.”
2006 -  “Let me tell you something, there ain’t nothing better than looking at a hot, naked chick.”

2006, Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), the first Muslim U.S. congressman, appeared on Glenn Beck. Beck told him, “I have been nervous about this interview with you because what I feel like saying is, “Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies.”

The incident earned Beck a spot on the alternative weekly Buffalo Beast ’s list of 2006’s most loathsome people. The paper wrote, “It’s like someone found a manic, doom-prophesying hobo in a sandwich board, shaved him, shot him full of Zoloft and gave him a show.”  That’s sums him up. But wait there is more.

BOOK REVIEW:  The Overton Window by Glen Beck

One of the media blogs described Beck as one who likes to "scrawl wild conspiracy theories on a chalkboard." In the "Overton Window',  which is an old storyline as you will see, “socialist forces” are plotting to overthrow America.  How do we define "socialist forces".  I thought we solved that one in "Red Dawn".  Oh, these are "political socialist forces".  Not recruited, but elected.

Hasn’t this been played out before? Why didn’t Beck communicate with the boys in Hollywood for this type of script first?  Movies really make money. Stars are available, like Kiefer Sutherland who’s looking for a good conspiracy after the TV show 24 hours finished.

Or how could I have missed this?  I had forgotten the dean of conspiracy movies, hero moves, grunts, grimacing, and fast hands, Steven Seagal?  This book is literally right up his Aikido 7th Dan Black belt Gi. This is his kind of cannon fodder, unfortunately, I think he already made five or six similar stories and movies. Some of them pure Cannon Farter.

RUPERT MURDOCK WISHED HE WAS HIS SON

FOX News, the conspiratorial Mecca of the Earth host describes Becks work of "faction," or fiction "with plot rooted in fact".  Well, since he is on their payroll, that’s Like Sarah Palin endorsing Sean Hannity. Goebbels telling you what a great party animal Hitler was.

How does Murdock do it? Slam so many nut-cases on one channel. Money, follow the money. You see a normal corporation or agency doesn't want these people around for the long term but Beck won't last since 400 of the advertisers on Fox backed off.

Steven Livingston in the Washington Post, who I have a lot of respect for his writings, wrote; The success of Glenn Beck's novel, “The Overton Window” will be measured not by its literary value (none), or its contribution to the thriller genre (small), or the money it rakes in (considerable), but rather by the rebelliousness it incites among anti-government extremists.

If the book is found tucked into the ammo boxes of self-proclaimed patriots and recited at “Tea Party” assemblies, then Beck will have achieved his goal.  The story line, which fictionalizes Beck's well-known paranoia about a secret Big Government plan to crush the liberties of well-meaning citizens, is an extended call to arms, a rallying cry to his angry foot soldiers long stirred by his ranting on FOX News.
As the last line of the book warns, "We're everywhere… The fight starts tomorrow."

BECK AND POT STIRRING
I agree, first, it’s one of those things that Beck does best, he know how to stir the pot to the point of spilling over and that worries me because he says things that at the right time and place a moron will take literally and the end result is something stupid happening.  As I have written about here before, seven of them, were arrested by the FBI and planning to kill police. Some of these lower forms might have only differed from the troglodytes by the fact they clipped their nails.

As I said in my index page, I like comparisons. Glen Becks reference to the NAZI’s and the Third Reich all the time has made me believe he has a personal agenda. He is doing the modern day job of Goebbels and uses his philosophy of tell it often, tell it loud, and make it a good lie, not something small. You will stir the masses. It worked 70 years ago and can work again.  A 32 million dollar paycheck for simply being an insulting, arrogant screwball is not a bad idea, however.

We have enough bad things occurring in some areas, similar to the same conditions that brought the party to the forefront, jobs, mortgages, war, depression, a very unstable economy and the decimation of the middle class, making the poor and the rich distance each other.  Some one from the Marx- Stalin era once said, “the soil is rich for a revolution’. I don’t think he was referring to the potato crop.

Is Becks shtick starting to sound familiar?  Look at the cover of his last book. He is seen wearing a NAZI uniform and I hate to make the assumption he looks proud in it.  As a Jew who has heard enough about the holocaust, my family deeper than many of you know about me, I find him disgusting. As an American who understands 58 million people directly or indirectly because of the Second World War died at the hands of the Axis, I find him even more repulsive.

His adoration and his lack of compassion for those who survived, those who can still see tattoos on their arms and their siblings, he is a carrier of bad memories and pain for those made it out of the death camps.  That’s why we do not talk of them, they are ‘treif”.  While he promotes a love for Israel which few believe, especially on a Murdoch station,  he is no friend to anyone other than himself.

TAKE AWAY THE CHALKBOARD
Glenn Beck is dangerous, argues Media Matters' Eric Boehlert in The Huffington Post. Since 2009, the Fox News host has used his bully pulpit to foment fears of a "nefarious cabal" of progressive organizations that are supposedly "determined to destroy democracy in America."

But if Beck's "unequivocal" calls for a right-wing insurrection aren't quickly silenced, says Boehlert, it's only a matter of time before innocent blood is spilled. An excerpt:

The sad truth is we're going to see more like Byron Williams. We're going to see more attempts at vigilante violence during the Age of Obama simply because the right-wing media, led by Beck, promoted on FOX VIEWS, NOT NEWS, continue to gleefully (albeit irresponsibly) stoke dangerous fires with the kind of relentlessly incendiary rhetoric that has no match in terms of modern day, mainstream use in American politics or media....

NEW YORK TIMES PROFILE
According to a new profile, Beck is terrified that one of his listeners will "do something stupid." Just weeks after Glenn Beck's enormous 8/28 rally in Washington, D.C, the New York Times has published an 8,000-word profile of the Fox News host. Writer Mark Leibovich followed Beck around for several weeks, speaking to his fans and detractors, and interviewing him several times. What Leibovich reveals, says Chris Good at The Atlantic, is "key to understanding what Beck is all about."

Many people at Fox News are embarrassed by Beck.
Even though Beck is probably Fox News' biggest name right now, his relations with the network are frayed, discovers Leibovich.  Fox News boss Roger Ailes is reportedly displeased at Beck's continuous "hawking of his non-Fox ventures" on air, and feels he "does not fully appreciate the degree to which Fox News has made him the sensation he has become."  Beck's name tends to provoke "either a sigh or an eyeroll" when mentioned to Fox reporters and staff members.  A precipitous fall in his show's ratings, and a boycott by 296 former advertisers haven't helped.

On his TV show, Beck invokes Hitler roughly 9 times a month
.  Beck's rhetoric is full of "Nazi, Hitler, and Holocaust comparisons," says Leibovitch.  How full? The writer quotes a forthcoming book byWashington Post writer Dana Milbank that has discovered "in the first 14 months of Beck’s Fox News show, Beck and his guests mentioned fascism 172 times, Nazis 134 times, Hitler 115 times, the Holocaust 58 times, and Joseph Goebbels eight times."

While such comparisons "inevitably offend a lot of people," writes Leibovich, "Beck seems not to care."  Some suspect he is either an agitator of sorts against the media much of which is owned or managed by those who are Jewish or he is a closet Nazi.

BAILED ON YALE
The conservative firebrand has founded his own online university, despite never having received a college degree. But that could have been different, says Leibovich. Beck enrolled at Yale when he was in his early 30s, on the back of a recommendation from alumnus Sen. Joe Lieberman, but quickly dropped out.  Lieberman, how did he get involved with Beck?  He admits to spending "more time trying to find a parking space" than studying.  Truly spoken by a first semester flunkout.

His art imitates his life.
Leibovich pays a visit to Mercury Studios, from which Beck broadcasts his daily radio show and plans his media operations. The Times writer pays particular attention to the art on its walls. Portraits of Orson Welles, Ronald Reagan, and Walt Disney vie for space with a "massive red-and-blue 'Capitalism' poster ... hand-painted by Beck" himself.

The offices "evoke the self-image of a multimedia entrepreneur and would-be titan," writes Leibovich. In the broadcaster's own office, a "yellowed copy of the Boston Post" announcing Woodrow Wilson's death is displayed on the wall. Beck is no fan of the "father of the Progressive Era" — he is quoted saying, "I hate him ... I hate that guy."

He keeps stored food — but doesn't have a bunker.
Beck is often teased for his dire prophecies that society is unraveling, says Leibovich. The Fox News host even makes reference to a personal "bunker." But there is no such hidey-hole, Beck reveals in the article. He does keep a "great deal of food in reserve," but insists this is a "tenet of his Mormon faith ... for when tough times come." Asked if he is engaged in survival training, he replies: "No. Should I be? Maybe."

WAR WITH HIMSELF
The central conflict within Beck, says Leibovich, is whether he should be "the face of Honor Restored" or "the voice of a Great American Freakout." He wrote a letter to fellow conservative Sarah Palin recently asking if he was "doing more harm or more good. I don't know any more." Friends say he is terrified of one of his listeners "doing something stupid."

He often wears a bulletproof vest, and wants to install a 6-foot barrier around his Connecticut estate. "He is fragile, on the edge," concludes Leibovich. "There is no template for him or where he is headed.

GLENN BECK UNIVERSITY
In the latest attempt to make more money and power than Rush Limbaugh, Fox News Anal-ist Glen Beck once again is making a strong push to convert the world to his level of thinking.  Only he will be doing the thinking and you will be privileged to attend these sacred offerings by paying the paltry sum of 75 or so dollars per year.  Beck's chalkboard scribbling, and reading suggestions, his Fox News broadcasts seem like University lectures. He loves that limelight… and the money.

It will be a series of online lectures and discussions which promises to "explore the concepts of Faith, Hope and Charity and show you how they influence America's past, her present and most importantly her future."

The "University," which we call “ Beck State” does refer to his state of mind is complete with a Crest symbolically and promises to be hung in a very conspicuous place. One of the suggestions was to place it over the door to the men’s room on the second tier at Daytona’s famous racetrack.  If you have been their you know what it's like.

TRI-CORNERED HATS ON SQUARE HEADS
His courses may be varied and subject to his whim thus we might see as suggested by Mother Earth "Semantics of Tri-cornered Hats"; "Psych 301: Paranoia as Therapeutic Alternative"; and "Underwater Conspiracy Weaving."  We had suggested his excellent treatise “Mental Masturbation As A Cure for Complacency in Government”, or “How I Spend My Time Whizzing On OZ”.

Scott Jaschik at Inside Higher Education, writes Beck has signed up at least one "traditional academic" — Louisiana State University political science professor James R. Stoner, who brings both "strong scholarly and conservative credentials" to the course.  The laughing that followed was deafening.

THE ACADEMIA TURNED MACADEMIA’S

Nuts, his crew is composed of a few nuts so as a public service we are explaining the value of edible nuts versus nut cases. Nuts are one of the best plant sources of protein. They are very high in dietary fiber, phytonutrients and antioxidants such as Vitamin E and selenium. Nuts are also high in plant sterols and fat - but mostly monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats.  This has nothing to do with the staff nuts at Beck U.

Its faculty features such luminaries: as a free-market economist whose degree is in psychology.  A Texas Republican Party bigwig (has to be a friend of George the giant killer) who hates, hates, HATES church-state separation. and lastly the schools Latin motto;
"Tyrannis Seditio, Obsequium   Eng; "Revolution against tyrants, submission to God".

The GOLD SCANDAL
Conservative talk show host Glenn Beck has come under fire from media watchdogs and his employer, Fox News, for simultaneously endorsing gold as an investment on his TV show and pitching gold coins for an advertiser against company specific rules….

FINALLY...NEW YORK

Later this year Glenn Beck and the Fox News Channel will part company. Beck of course says he is leaving for other ventures, Fox has been quiet and the media quick to seek truth (something he knows little about) and came with different scenarios and reasoning for Herr Beck to leave.

Some believe it's his mouth, probably the main cause for him leaving. His statements were getting him in trouble, and critics appealed to advertisers to boycott his show last summer after he said President Barack Obama had "a deep-seated hatred for white people."

Fox and Beck’s company, Mercury Radio Arts, said Wednesday they will stay in business creating other projects for Fox television and digital, starting with some documentaries Beck is preparing.

His boss,  Roger Ailes, Fox News chairman and CEO, in January to discuss ways they could continue to work together without the daily show. "Half of the headlines say he's been canceled," Ailes said. "The other half say he quit. We're pretty happy with both of them."

REAL REASONS

  • More than 400 Fox advertisers told the company they did not want their commercials on Beck show.

  • Beck’s advertisers were dominated by financial services firms, many touting gold as an investment.

  • Ailes dismissed the financial impact of the boycott but expressed some frustration with it.   “Advertisers who get weak-kneed because some idiot on a blog site writes to them and says we need to stifle speech, I get a little frustrated by that,".

  • Ratings - Beck was a like a fireworks display, after the last ones go off, nothing is left but a stink in the air.  January 2009, he doubled the ratings on his show.  After folks got to know him they dropped off the cliff like the 1932 Lemming Convention in Oslo.  Comedy Central’s Stephen Colbert described Beck's "crank up the crazy and rip off the knob" moments.

  • Increasingly, the show began to be dominated by Beck standing in front of a chalk board giving his theories about the world’s troubles.

  • He was popular with Tea Pot party activists and drew thousands of people to the National Mall in Washington last August for a “restoring honor" rally described as lots of self adoration and flatulence.

  • "To his admirers, Glenn Beck has been a voice crying in the wilderness, a prophet who warns us that we have been wandering in darkness too long. To detractors, he is a clown and a buffoon, at best, a dangerous demagogue, at worst." Lee Harris of the Weekly Standard.

  • David Brock, founder of the liberal watchdog Media Matters for America said that “the only surprise is that it took Fox News months to reach this decision to part company.”

  • James Rucker, executive director of Color of Change.org which organized the advertiser boycott said, “FOX News Channel clearly understands that Beck's increasingly erratic behavior is a liability to their ratings and their bottom line, and we are glad to see them take this action,"  It's rumored 400 companies agreed.

  • Beck is on a campaign to convince the American public that President Obama’s agenda is about serving the needs of Black communities at White people's expense. It’s repulsive, divisive and shouldn't be on the air.

  • The Jewish Funds for Justice organized a petition drive last fall to get Beck fired for what it called his misuse of Nazis and the Holocaust phrases against political opponents.  In January 2011, in protest at what they saw as inappropriate references to the Holocaust and to Nazis by Beck (and by Roger Ailes of Fox News), four hundred rabbis signed an open letter in paid advertisement in the Wall Street Journal.

  • The ad was paid for by Jewish Funds for Justice which had previously called for Beck's firing. The JFFJ have claimed on their website that Beck seems "to draw his material straight from the anti-Semitic forgery, the Protocols of the Elders of Zion". The letter states that Beck and Fox had “ Diminished the memory and meaning of the Holocaust when you use it to discredit any individual or organization you disagree with.

  • That is what Fox News has done in recent weeks." In response, a Fox News executive said to Reuters that the letter was from a “George Soros-backed leftwing political organization".

  • Viewers - Viewers had begun turning away. Beck's 5 p.m. ET show averaged 2.7 million viewers during the first three months of 2010, and was at just under 2 million for the same period this year, the Nielsen Co. said. His decline was sharper among younger viewers sought by advertisers.

  • FOX NEWS asked him to leave and he has started his own radio and TV enterprise.  When you are too crazy for FOX , you really have to be interned in an asylum somewhere.

GLENN BECK REDUX  (Plan B)

Glenn Beck, the Glenn Beck recently confessed to Fox News’ on The Kelly File that he "played a role, unfortunately, in helping tear the country apart.”  It takes a great amount of chutzpah to admit basically you were ( are, still is, currently)  a schmuck.  He is his own worst critic about a time when healing was needed and not the antics of a pot luck former druggie ripping this country apart.  Maybe he is admitting what he did before the entire world through the media sees him for what he was to lessen the rhetoric.

He said;  "I remember it as an awful lot of fun and that I made an awful lot of mistakes. I wish I could go back and be more uniting in my language because I think I played a role, unfortunately, in helping tear the country apart and it’s not who we are and I didn’t realize how really fragile the people were.

I thought we were kind of a little more in it together. Now I look back and I realize if we could have talked about the uniting principles a little bit more, instead of just the problems, I think I would look back on it a little more fondly. [The Blaze]

Heavy, very heavy. But the problem is as in the past is Beck believable?

I’m stymied about this.  His confession comes at a time when his popularity is waning, why this strategy of contrition?  Unless he thinks it will slow down the damage, his banter has become so off the wall, it’s a joke.  He does nothing for nothing, everything is rehearsed, planned and executed.  Or is he just part of the losers, the Tea potters who cost the GOP plenty looking to jump ship before the Titanic docks.

He’s not alone, the GOP has toned down some of it’s rhetoric but rest assured you can pour perfume on a skunk and it will still be a skunk a few days later.

There is an abundance of rightwing nutcases to pollute the media, is this just another color in his chameleon suit and now he is lost in a sea of we’ll make it all better before the Titanic docks….?

No, I’m not one who forgives that easily.

He said many harmful things about a lot of people helping tear this country apart for years, and then today he is a changed man, reinventing himself as a builder of the country.  My instinct says  "Whose kidding whom”.   Linguistically it also means meaningless or insincere talk or action; nonsense. Used to express disagreement or exasperation. All of the above, and if Beck really believes that his shenanigans was detrimental to society what is he going to do to rectify it.

We’ll see if this is the genuine article or another suit in the chameleons closet.  Personally I trust him about as far as the end of my nose.
