SEN JOHN MCCAIN

SENATOR JOHN McCAIN

THE PASSING OF SENATOR JOHN MCCAIN

1936-2018

A Naval Aviator, Warrior, Statesman, Congressman and Senator,

family man, patriot and hero, obstinate, fearless, a fighter for the

people,  the United States, and a man who loved his country first...

thats how I will remember him.

Whenever America was in a fight during his long lifetime, John McCain was in the thick of it.  McCain, who has died at the age of 81, was a naval bomber pilot, prisoner of war, conservative maverick, giant of the Senate, twice-defeated presidential candidate and an abrasive American hero with a twinkle in his eye.

The political world reacts to Sen. John McCain’s death, The Arizonan warrior politician, who survived plane crashes, several bouts of skin cancer and brushes with political oblivion, often seemed to be perpetually waging a race against time and his own mortality while striving to ensure that his five-and-a-half years as a Vietnam prisoner of war did not stand as the defining experience of his life.

He spent his last few months out of the public eye in his adopted home state of Arizona, reflecting on the meaning of his life and accepting visits from a stream of friends and old political combatants.  In a memoir published in May, McCain wrote that he hated to leave the world, but had no complaints.

"It's been quite a ride. I've known great passions, seen amazing wonders, fought in a war, and helped make peace," McCain wrote. "I've lived very well and I've been deprived of all comforts. I've been as lonely as a person can be and I've enjoyed the company of heroes. I've suffered the deepest despair and experienced the highest exultation.

“I made a small place for myself in the story of America and the history of my times."

MY THOUGHTS:  McCain had not been in Washington since December, leaving a vacuum in the corridors of the Senate and the television news studios he roamed for decades.   In recent months, he was not completely quiet, however, blasting President Donald Trump in a series of tweets and statements that showed that while he was ailing he had lost none of his appetite for the political fight. Two People…One thing very apparent…

John McCain was and will be a hero and a great man who served and loved his country…

Donald J. T-RUMP is a draft-dodging coward and scumbag lowlife…

who will never achieve the love and respect that John McCain achieved…

Trying to save face…T-RUMP breaks silence on McCain, tweeting his ‘deepest sympathies and respect’  Thanks but No thanks, Donald your words are not truth, worthless… The Arizona Senator repeatedly made clear that he saw T-RUMP and his America First ideology as a departure from the values and traditions of global leadership that he saw epitomized in the United States.

I keep thinking, and I can’t chase it from my mind...  A remark by President Trump, a known fraud, narcissistic,  misogamist, draft dodger, money launderer for the Russians, Fake news distributor, and liar… “ Captain Bone Spurs” world highest ranking draft dodger, right after Adolf Hitler, number one. He said

Trump said, “I like people that weren’t captured.”

Someone Should Have Said

“ If you as a draft dodger and coward didn’t serve, it only proves your comment proves what a frickin coward you really are and so are most of your associates”.  It was an insult to all those who served their country.  The only mistake was by the false info from the electoral college and corruption, no collusion, corruption in  electing someone so unworthy and dirty of the position.  You should be shot for falsifying your service records and lying to the draft board as set up by your father who died in 1999.  Too bad I wanted a double hanging.  He taught you everything about lying and was well hated himself.

So to all of you in the GOP base and Evangelicals blinded by a false faith,  I suppose you prefer a coward, creep, draft dodger, thief, narcissistic, misogamist, liar and bigot… to a tortured vet,  I have only one message for you…

And if you look in the mirror and you are a supporter, guilty, your position is clear, explain that to God one day... or maybe the guy in the other place will listen. You are an embarrassment to your own faith and might wind up sitting next to Mike Pense, another loser who tells the lies of the liar.

NOTE:  McCain had been planning his funeral services over the last year and his family made clear that T-RUMP is not invited, a position that has not changed, two family friends said.  Rest in peace John, T-rump will not be attending the same place you went to…

A National Disgrace
The Wall Street Journal newspaper reports that the United States Navy, under orders from the White House and with the approval of the acting secretary of defense and the compliance of a chain of naval officers in the Seventh Fleet, did its efficient best to conceal the name John McCain from President Donald Trump’s sight when he recently visited Yokosuka Naval Base.

The ship is under repair, so it could not be moved. But sailors hung a tarp over the ship’s name, and other measures (a strategically positioned barge) helped obscure the offending words. Sailors were told to remove all coverings that might indicate that the ship is the USS John S. McCain.

They were, according to the article, given the day off, lest the name John McCain, embroidered on their caps, give offense. On the day of the presidential visit, some of the sailors present wore “Make Aircrew Great Again” patches, with something that resembled Trump’s profile on them. Subsequent stories in The New York Times and The Washington Post amended the Journal’s story somewhat, to include the assertion that naval leadership intervened at the last minute to have the tarp removed. But the basic account remained intact.

Dishonor By A Cowardly Draft Dodging Lowlife…

An apology is needed to the late Senator, and to his father and grandfather of the same name, who rendered the same distinguished service in war and peace. Their deeds and reputations are far beyond such mean contrivances.

But dishonor indeed to the civilians and officers who hold the lives of young Americans in their hands and went along with this obscene disgrace to a hero by the scumbag we call the Presidente Demente…and those that said nothing…

That the president might wish such behavior is not surprising—he is mean, petty, and vindictive, and even if he did not order this (and he quickly tweeted a denial that he had), he signaled that he wished it.  It is what is known in strongman governments as “ Working toward the Leader.” It is the effect of a personality that contaminates and corrodes every valuable thing he touches. Truly a subset of behavior when you work for a pr*ck, you become one yourself.  And Donald T-RUMP deserves the name calling as he ignites it… He is truly a mis-guided dumbass pr*ck.

More dangerous, a service that tolerates sycophancy will get America’s sons and daughters killed, and lead them to defeat in America’s wars. War is not per se a test of character, but it is impossible to win one without it. In wartime, the kinds of behaviors on display in the White House, the Pentagon, Indi-Pacific Command, and the Seventh Fleet will mean that the readiness reports will be lies, the backup plans imaginary, and brave men and women will be led by courtiers, not commanders.

The saddest part of this presidency is not the behavior of the commander in chief of the armed forces. Everyone knew what he is and how he was likely to behave from well before he won the presidency. What this episode shows is that the black fungus of fear, and ambition, and servility is more pervasive than might have been imagined. The president has merely brought it to the surface. The first stanza of the Navy Hymn ends, “Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee/For those in peril on the sea.” Unfortunately, the peril they face is now shown to be far greater than one might ever have imagined. It festers in the leadership.
