SIDNEY POWELL
ONE NUTCASE, Â REALLY WEIRD, Â A SICK INDIVIDUAL JUST AS BAD AS T-RUMP
AND A REAL CHALLENGE TO GIULIANI FOR SCUMBAG OF THE YEARâŠ
Before her newest turn in the spotlight, Powell was perhaps best known for making appearances on Fox News that were âtoo insane even for Lou Dobbs,â who once attempted to fact-check her wild allegations about supposedly diseased immigrants during a live interview.
Meyers proceeded to break down Powellâs bizarre conspiracy theories that somehow link late Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez to the Republican governor of Georgia.
âAnd yet curiously, she kept refusing to provide evidence of this vast scheme when pressed,â he said, âeven by friendly Fox News hosts who were basically desperate to agree with her as long as she could provide a shred of evidence.âÂ
Among those Fox hosts was Tucker Carlson, who explained to viewers last week that Powell, who is also an avowed QAnon conspiracy theorist, told him to stop contacting her after he requested evidence for her outlandish claims. âWow, you know youâre in full loony territory when even Tucker Carlson wonât go along with what youâre selling.â
Ultimately, Powell was deemed âtoo insaneâ (Meyersâ words) for the T-RUMP campaign itself,  âItâs both insane that theyâre trying to pretend that she was never part of the legal team when she was literally standing at an official T-RUMP press conference,â Meyers said, âand also believable that someone could wander into a Trump press conference and say theyâre his lawyer.â

T-RUMPÂ Weighed Naming Election Conspiracy Theorist asÂ
Special Counsel As Crawls Out Of The Dirt Â
Just Another Move to Cause ChaosâŠ

In a meeting at the White House on Friday, President T-RUMP weighed appointing Sidney Powell, who promoted conspiracy theories about rigged voting machines, to investigate voter fraud.  President T-RUMP has been in contact with Sidney Powell in recent days, even though his campaign last month sought to distance itself from her as she aired baseless claims about Dominion Voting Systems machines. Â
Maggie Haberman and Zolan Kanno-Young
President T-RUMP on Friday discussed naming Sidney Powell, who as a lawyer for his campaign team unleashed conspiracy theories about a Venezuelan plot to rig voting machines in the United States, to be a special counsel overseeing an investigation of voter fraud, according to two people briefed on the discussion.  It was unclear if Mr. T-RUMP will move ahead with such a plan.
Most of his advisers opposed the idea, two of the people briefed on the discussion said, including Rudolph W. Giuliani, the presidentâs personal lawyer. In recent days Mr. Giuliani has sought to have the Department of Homeland Security join the campaignâs efforts to overturn Mr. Trumpâs loss in the election.
Mr. Giuliani joined the discussion by phone initially, while Ms. Powell was at the White House for a meeting that became raucous and involved people shouting at each other at times, according to one of the people briefed on what took place.Â
Traitor Michael Flynn Offered Marshal Law  â  Ms. Powellâs client, retired Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn, the former national security adviser whom the president recently pardoned, was also there, two of the people briefed on the meeting said. Some senior administration officials drifted in and out of the meeting.
During an appearance on the conservative Newsmax channel this week, Mr. Flynn pushed for Mr. Trump to impose martial law and deploy the military to ârerunâ the election. At one point in the meeting on Friday, Mr. Trump asked about that idea.
Ms. Powellâs ideas were shot down by every other Trump adviser present, all of whom repeatedly pointed out that she had yet to back up her claims with proof. At one point, one person briefed on the meeting said, she produced several affidavits, but upon inspection they were all signed by a man she has previously used as an expert witness, whose credentials have been called into question.
Pushback before The white House Entirely Goes Crazy  â  The White House counsel, Pat A. Cipollone, and the White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows, repeatedly and aggressively pushed back on the ideas being proposed, which went beyond the special counsel idea, those briefed on the meeting said.
Mr. Cipollone told Mr. Trump there was no constitutional authority for what was being discussed, one of the people briefed on the meeting said. Other advisers from the White House and the Trump campaign delivered the same message throughout the meeting, which stretched on for a long period of time.
Mr. Trump was defeated in the election by President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. by more than 7 million votes. The states have confirmed Mr. Bidenâs Electoral College victory by a margin of 306-232.
But Mr. Trump, egged on by supporters like Ms. Powell, has never conceded and, holed up inside the White House, he continues to assert that he actually won â even though the baseless claims Ms. Powell and others have made of widespread fraud have been thoroughly debunked and even many of Mr. Trumpâs closest allies have dismissed as preposterous her tale of an international conspiracy to rig the vote.
Truly a F*ked Up President â  ( she fit in perfectly)  Mr. Trump tends to think of Justice Department appointees when he describes special counsels, but those briefed on the meeting said the idea was for Ms. Powell to serve as a special counsel within the White House, appointed by the president, according to those briefed on it.
Mr. Trump also asked about Ms. Powell being given security clearances to pursue her work, two of the people briefed on the meeting said. Â Ms. Powell accused other Trump advisers of being quitters, according to the people briefed.
But the idea that Mr. Trump would try to install Ms. Powell in a position to investigate the outcome sent shock waves through the presidentâs circle. She has repeatedly claimed there was widespread fraud, but several lawsuits she filed related to election fraud have been tossed out of court.
A White House spokesman, Ms. Powell and a spokeswoman for Mr. Giuliani did not respond to requests for comment.
Mr. Trump has been in contact with Ms. Powell at other times in recent days, even though his campaign last month sought to distance itself from her as she aired wild and baseless claims about Dominion Voting Systems machines, which were used in some states, somehow being connected to a Venezuelan plot to control the election.
Dominion officials have demanded that Ms. Powell retract her claims. The Trump campaign on Saturday sent a memo to campaign officials telling them to preserve documents related to Ms. Powell and Dominion in case of legal action by the company against Ms. Powell, according to a report by CNN that a campaign official confirmed.
SIDEBAR: T-RUMP may bring her in so he can keep up the heat and lies and get Giuliani a pardon before the Mafia exterminates himâŠÂ overdue and a big rewardâŠ

Born:   1955 (age 64â65)Durham, North Carolina, US
Education:   University of North Carolina (BA, JD)
Occupation: Â Attorney And Conspiritorialist, Nutcase and Loser
Years active:  1978âpresent
Sidney Katherine Powell (born 1955) is an American attorney and former federal prosecutor.  After graduating from law school in 1978, Powell began her career as an assistant United States attorney in the Western District of Texas. During her tenure she prosecuted Jimmy Chagra.
In 1988, she ceased working as a prosecutor and, in 1993, established her own firm. She has acted in appellate matters as a prosecutor and defense counsel.  She represented executives in the Enron scandal, and in 2019, defended General Michael Flynn in United States v. Flynn.
In 2020, Powell joined the legal team of President Donald Trump in an attempt to overturn President-elect Joe Biden's victory over Trump in the 2020 presidential election. After several interviews in which Powell spread additional election fraud conspiracy theories, Trumpâs legal team formally distanced itself from her, stating she was "practicing law on her own" and was not a member of the team.
Powell continued filing election lawsuits independently in district courts, and ultimately lost four federal lawsuits in Michigan, Georgia, Arizona, and Wisconsin.  Powell has promoted numerous conspiracy theories. She has claimed that Flynn was framed by a covert âdeep stateâ operation, and has also promoted personalities and slogans associated with the QAnon conspiracy theory.Â
In regards to the 2020 presidential election, Powell alleges that a secret international cabal involving communists, â loyalists", George Soros, Hugo ChĂĄvez, the Clinton Foundation, the CIA, and thousands of Democratic and Republican officials, including Trump ally and Georgia governor Brian Kemp, used voting machines to transfer millions of votes away from Trump to Biden. Â
Powell has also baselessly accused other Republican and Democratic candidates of paying bribes to the Dominion Voting Systems Corporation, so as to ensure the tabulation of votes is rigged in their favor.  The city of Detroit asked a federal judge to sanction Powell for â frivolously undermining peopleâs faith in the democratic process and their trust in our government.â
Early life  â  Sidney Katherine Powell was born into a working-class family in Durham, North Carolina, grew up in the city of Raleigh, and knew from an early age that she wanted to be a lawyer.  She graduated from Needham Broughton High School and went on to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts  At the age of 19, she was accepted into the University of North Carolina School of Law, where she graduated in 1978 with a Juris Doctor degree.  She began her legal career as one of the youngest federal prosecutors in the US.
From 1978 through 1988, Powell served as an assistant United States attorney for the Western and Northern Districts of Texas and the Eastern District of Virginia, where she handled civil and criminal trial work. She was appointed Appellate Section Chief for the Western District of Texas and then the Northern District of Texas.
In 1993, Powell established her own law firm in Dallas, Texas. Around 2002, she began to practice in Asheville, North Carolina, but reportedly moved back to Texas later.
Assassination of Judge John H. Wood  â  In 1979, Powell was one of the prosecutors in the trial of Jimmy Chagra.  He was accused in the assassination of John H. Wood Jr., a federal judge from Texas. Chagra was acquitted for involvement in the assassination but convicted on other charges.  He later admitted to his role in the conspiracy to murder the judge.
Enron scandal  â  Powell spent nearly a decade in the 2000s representing firms and executives involved in the Enron scandal, including the accounting firm Arthur Andersen and former Merrill Lynch executive Jim Brown. Powell became an outspoken critic of the Enron Task Force prosecutions, and especially accused prosecutor Andrew Weissmann of overreach.  After this experience, Powell went on to write extensively about prosecutorial abuses; namely, the 2014 book âLicensed to Lie".  The book was noticed by then-Senator Orrin Hatch, who described it as âpowerful".
Michael Flynn  â  After publishing her first book, Powell continued writing opinion pieces for right-leaning websites.  In 2017, Weissmann was selected to join Robert Muellerâs Special Counsel Investigation, reviving interest in Licensed to Lie from Newt Gingrich and Sean Hannity.  Using her status as a former federal prosecutor, Powell became a leading voice against the Mueller Probe;  in a February 2018 op-ed, Powell wrote that General Michael Flynn should âwithdraw his guilty pleaâ for making false statements to the FBI, alleging "egregious government misconduct".   Powell's appearances on Fox News to discuss the Flynn case were noticed by President Donald Trump, and the two spoke on several occasions. In November 2018, Powell spoke at a conference to raise money for Flynn's defense, where she met Flynn's siblings. They agreed that Flynn was the victim of a â eep state plot", and had only pleaded guilty because he was coerced.

In June 2019, Flynn released his law firm of Covington & Burling, and retained Powell to serve as his lead attorney.  On the same day this was disclosed, Powell sent a letter to Attorney General William Barr requesting the "utmost confidentiality" and argued that Flynn's prosecution was due to "corruption of our beloved government institutions for what appears to be political purposes."   Among other things, she requested that Barr appoint an outsider to investigate. Six months later, Barr appointed Jeffrey Jensen to conduct such an investigation.
In May 2020, the Justice Department filed a motion with presiding federal judge Emmett Sullivan to drop Flynnâs prosecution.   Sullivan did not immediately grant the motion, and Powell later requested a writ of mandamus from the DC Circuit Court of Appeals to compel Sullivan to drop the case. After an initial ruling in favor of Powell by a three-judge panel of the Court, the case was appealed to the full Court, which denied the mandamus request in an 8â2 ruling, returning the case to Sullivanâs court.   Powell had argued to the full Court that Sullivan's role was "ministerial," giving him no discretion but to comply with the Justice Department motion, to which judge Thomas Griffith replied, "It's not ministerial and you know it's not. So itâs not ministerial, so that means that the judge has to do some thinking about it, right?"   Other judges on the Court also pushed back on Powell's characterization of a federal judge's role.
Soon after taking the Flynn case, Powell had accused the Justice Department of prosecutorial misconduct against Flynn; in a footnote to a June 2020 court brief, the department described Powell's allegations as "unfounded and provide no basis for impugning the prosecutors from the D.C. United States Attorney's Office."
Ultimately, in November 2020, President Trump issued a pardon for Flynn. According to a Justice Department official, the Justice Department was not consulted on the pardon. Powell has been described as a proponent of conspiracy theories about Flynn, namely that he had been framed by members of the âdeep state" who were trying to eject President Donald Trump from office.
We simply describe her as a proponent of lies, rumors, distortions, mis-information and have to agree she probably will winÂ
