I too am a proud fellow member of the NRA. In addition, I was a Competitive “ B” Class IPSC Shooter and am a Certified IPSC Combat Range Officer. Lifetime membership means she paid her dues in one shot, filled out the forms and she gets the magazine.
In addition, she’ll now receive discounts on all re-mastered Charlton Heston movies. It certainly adds a lot to any resume, and in Politics it means financial support from the NRA, one of if not the strongest lobby groups in Washington.
EXTERMINATOR of WOLVES
I understand cultural difference. Alaskans are frontier-minded survivalists. They hunt. She can shoot Wolves after a chase from a Helicopter or Light aircraft. So could I, after you have nearly run them to death. Wolves run down and exhausted by chopper are more like sitting ducks.
Having Sarah Palin do a TLC show on Alaska and Conservationism, green thinking and such is like having a forum after asking Hitler, Mussolini, Pol Pot and Stalin to explain crowd control.
And it would nice to know whether state resources were to be used for this eradication process. You mean to tell me the largest state in the union with the smallest population can't relocate wolves to another more secluded area.
This is while the feds are paying for programs for Wolf survival in Yellowstone Park, a federal program is the long going latest attempt to save the top of the predator chain and the Wolves are doing fine.
Sarah Palin is no friend of any of God's creatures. “Noah would call her a subversive”. Several civic groups in Alaska do not agree with her. Search the web for Palin and Hunting. Wolves don't taste good; their main asset is their coat. So why kill them, just trap them and send them as unrelated breeding stock to Yellowstone.
SERVED ON A SCHOOL BOARD
She quoted all the fine things she did on the Wasilla school board. She belittled the President as never serving on a school board. Then the truth came out. A Johns Hopkins University study named Wasilla High School as a “dropout factory”. Wasilla’s rate was 6.5 percent in 2006, a number that was much higher than most of the schools in the Mat-Su district. Only 58% of incoming freshman graduated as seniors. The schools there have a terrible graduation rate. No real improvements brought to the schools.

She made big noise how she managed her city and gained experience. Mayor of a town with the population of my subdivision. Well, close, Wasilla had 10,256 in 2008. My town, Largo is 72,000 in a larger city of several million. ALASKA's entire population is about 700,000. We have more people in the Tampa Bay area than all of ALASKA and as many unique problems as ALASKA.
Their budget so hailed by Palin as management qualified could be figured on the back of a paper grocery bag with a pencil and no calculator. That’s how my boss did it when I delivered groceries fifty-two years ago. Oh, he didn't have a calculator. He could count. You know adding things up. Yet she claimed she had great management experience running Wasilla. Not what we heard. I would put her up against any of the those fifth graders on TV with nothing more than Monopoly experience. And guaranteed they would smoke her in head to head fifth grade questions.
FAMILY TREE
Family planning… her own daughter, remember this is the school board lady, needed a GED and while laden with child still went on the Alaskan Outback Family Values VP Campaign Tour with the prospective husband Levi holding hands.
It made great photo ops but he was smart enough to bail than join the Palin mob. Was he? They got plenty of money now and he could of had a free ticket. Unfortunately he bailed from the tour and the daughters life after dumping the daughter, indicating he wanted to dump the whole deal. The prospective father of her wedlock child didn't graduate either.
BUT he was sleeping in their house and obviously in her daughters bed every night and that’s how babies are made. The usual custody battle over the baby ensued, and it will probably get dirty as time goes on. I predict Bristol will win. Money made good money.
FAMILY IN-LAWS VALUESFamily values are a Palin trademark. Which brings us to the In-Laws or is it Out-Laws. Good thing the wedding got called off. The future mother in law, Levi’s Mom, got caught for selling drugs (Oxycontins) and is in Jail. She did not pass GO and those get out of jail cards for free did not work in this town. And lately Levi has become a tell-all of her personal life, which doesn't exactly match her made up resume. There is bad blood there now.
THE FUTURE
Some have suggested a few things Sarah could be doing now that she lost the election. She did get involved with FOX news, thats a reality show framed around a news show and she better hope they don’t turn against her.
- They could do a remake of the “ he Alaskan Hillbillies move to Washington".
- Or the The Hunting Channel will sponsor “Duck hunting on the Potomac”.
- A series with Martha Stewart in redecorate the Lincoln Bedroom.
- Becoming the spokesperson for the BASS-PRO shops who might build a new Superstore in the East wing of the White House.
- “Let’s get behind this gal and put a Moose in every pot”, from the food channel. Country-fried sweetness aside, moose balls for dinner is not what we call mainstream, unless you are Andy in Funny Farm. Oh, that was sheep balls,” lamb fries”, the waitress called them.
QUIT? GOVERNORS DON'T QUIT
Alaska politics play rough. But it's also big on lawsuits and she was named in legal battles concerning abuse of power. They started piling up. You see her job as Governor was a lot like her vetting, sooner or later the truth started coming out and she felt she had established her brand and it would solve her problems so she quit as Governor claiming she was doing it for Alaska.
Truthfully no one with brains believed her. She's doing it for money from the book, legal bills and innumerable charges coming from the state legislature. The Alaska legislature went after her for violations of abuse, too many to mention but it is estimated her legal fees exceed a half million dollars so far.
Maybe leaving office is part of a deal or leaving office gives her time to regroup, practice her babble and maybe school herself in Constitutional law, Civil law, and not just sit there and tell us what's wrong with the press, the reporters, the newspapers, the media, the blogs, the late night TV "commentariats", her opponents, government, her brother in law, Levi and did I mention the unfair liberal PRESS.
We know what's wrong. Her brain and mouth connection. We elect based on popularity, even if they are imbeciles, to office if they say the right words, look the right look, and promise more BS than the other guy. She may wear religion on her sleeve, but a good book deal in the bra is closer to her heart. And there are enough gullible people out there that believe her especially when she drags in the right Sarah for the occasion.
She is a true Alaskan, she loves her Alaska and that is so, so big in her heart. So she quit. Wow, what self sacrifice. It just had to be the book deal written in an incredible three months for millions. What talent! It proves fiction, a good co-writer, lots of cut and paste, bashing and no substance can make you a writer.
DUMPER or DUMPEE
Dump Alaska, maybe before they dumped her? Now that's unique set of events and so are the people in Alaska who deserved better than the 1000 dollar checks she handed out from the rebates of the oil tax fund. Then, only then, they surveyed her popularity. Give everyone a 1000 dollars and even the meth-heads will fill out the forms. They did, meth prices soared.
Alaskans are incredibly unique people. Survivalists who live by the land, off the land and with the land. I have many friends there and they think it's the closest place to heaven on earth. Yes, weather is a factor, but the purity of life for some is more rewarding. They are tough people because they have to be. The climate lends itself to that statement. They are multi-tasking survivalists. And the state has problems with drugs and booze.
It seems everyone in Alaska loves fishing and hunting which in some ways supports "eating values”. I have no problem with that. Killing for fun, or for overkill wall decorations, different story. Think about it, when two hundred miles of tundra separates you from the nearest Publix Supermarket, that moose in the front yard looks like the meat department's free home delivery both fresh and nicely packaged. I have nothing wrong with that as long as you explain that to those who live in cities and ghettos.
TRUTH vs. FOLKLORE: (LIES)
Chicago Tribune: “That luxury jet was over the top,” Sarah Palin, the Republican vice presidential nominee, said to loud cheers. “I put it on eBay”. Yes she did. BUT it did not sell. Did not sell three times. I hope sBay got paid for the listings that did not sell.
Sara Palin’s statement implied the plane was sold through the online auction site revered for empowering millions of small entrepreneurs, and Palin’s spokeswoman insisted that the transaction occurred.
The 23-year-old 10-seat WestWind II was sold in August 2007 for $2.1 million to a Valdez, Alaska, entrepreneur; that’s about $500,000 less than a broker’s asking price, plus commission.
Had she kept it, we imagined what the logo and theme of the 25 year old Westwind II would look like.
The plane, bought by her Republican predecessor whom she beat in 2006, was listed for sale three times on the San Jose Internet auction giant.
But no one ever met the minimum bid. The plane was listed with an asking price of $2.5 million in 2007. The state had paid just under $2.7 million for it in 2005. Finally, the state turned to an aircraft broker, who sold the jet to an Alaskan businessman for $2.1 million". Only the book keepers know how much the state spent refurbishing and upgrading the aircraft so we will never know how much they really lost.
John McCain, however, took the claim a step further just days after Palin's speech, suggesting that Palin had not only sold the plane on eBay, but made money on the deal as well. At a campaign stop in Wisconsin on Sept. 5, McCain said, "You know what I enjoyed the most? She took the luxury jet that was acquired by her predecessor and sold it on eBay — and made a profit!”
But that wasn't the case. They lost a ton of money. In addition, that aircraft had the size and range and not only used for the governor but it served to transfer Alaskan prisoners to jail in other parts of the country. This was one of its primary functions. Now the state pays for that trip. They transfer their prisoners to Colorado, as Alaska doesn't have the resources for prisoners. So now they go commercial flights mixed in with you and me and Palin rented a really nicer bigger more expensive bird. Bottom line, more untruths.
NOT STRONG OFF SCRIPT
Here is a gal that doesn't know what she reads BUT just wrote a book. Unbelievable that people actually follow her. In Charles Gibson’s interview, she still failed World Politics 101. In Katie Couric's interview she failed the entire semester. Her coach Senator “Switch-sides” Lieberman did the coaching, she had no clue as to what the Bush Doctrine was or is.
Basically his failed doctrines in ten years of war still won’t take up much space in the Bush Legacy library. OK, the doctrines simply put “attack the bad guys before they attack you”. Result, almost 7000 dead US soldiers and 52,000 wounded.
Not knowing the Busch Doctrines is one thing, not knowing the job of the V.P. is an insult to the party, the people and the whole way we elect folks to the highest offices in the land. Her answer to "what is the role of the VP" was astoundingly ignorant. The VP has one role, to take over if anything happens to the President.
She replied, “as VP she would go to Congress, and tell them what laws to pass, and direct how things are done”. It got worse, almost embarrassing, for McCain knew at that point his boys blew it. Big time. Get out the recipe books boys, and look up “Cooked Alaskan Goose”.
False statements, cut’s and snips and not even knowing what you read or say really sends up the flares. Like watching repeats, Katie Couric had a classic field day with her. It was not intentional, as Sara would have it, you know the liberal press excuse, all the dumb answers came from one mouth to simple no-trick questions. Except on FOX TV, the station of the Legion of Doom. She simply knew nothing about almost anything.
One question in particular was extremely difficult. What do you read? She had no clue what papers she does read. Couric said "It's usually printed at the top of the first page or on the cover".
