Ms BETSY DEVOS

MS. BETSY DEVOS -  MILLIONAIRE

SECRETARY of EDUCATION - DOUCHBAG PAWN

Another T-RUMP Evangelical appointee totally inept and unfit for the job who hasn’t got a clue about improving education…  She is just window dressing but she did donate 2 million dollars to the T-rump election fund and she is a devout moron which qualifies her for a T-rump cabinet position.

The only thing she has accomplished is destroying anything former president Obama put in place for student protections as per orders from President Donald “ Bone Spurs”  T-RUMP.

ARE WE A MORE PERFECT UNION - I DON’T THINK SO...

NOT WITH HER AROUND - SHE’LL  RUIN THINGS
I seriously believe that, and I see a trend not befitting who we were and who we are today.  We are always being told by those we chose to represent us, the politicians whom remind us how exceptional we and our children are.

That's just not true.  More liken to the Plebes of Rome being told how great things were and they could watch the slaves and Christians get eaten by lions or killed by professional killers called “gladiators” trained for entertainment.

Washington (CNN)Education Secretary Betsy DeVos is rescinding an Obama-era rule that was created to protect students from abusive for-profit colleges.

The rule, known as Gainful Employment, required for-profit colleges and career certificate programs to post debt-to-earnings ratios, proving that their students could find good-paying jobs upon graduating. If the average ratio did not meet government standards, the school's federal funding would be revoked.

The Department of Education outlined a number of reasons the regulation was flawed in a notice posted Friday. It said the rule failed to account for factors other than program quality that could affect a graduate's earnings.

DeVos has also criticized the rule for not requiring all nonprofit colleges to also publish the data. In May, the department released new student loan data at the program level from nonprofit colleges, as well as certificate-granting programs.

Consumer advocates slammed DeVos on Friday for rolling back the student safeguard.

Betsy DeVos faces new lawsuit over student debt forgiveness

"Again and again, Secretary DeVos proves she only cares about protecting for-profit colleges, no matter how many students they swindle," said Aaron Ament, president of the National Student Legal Defense Network.

DeVos has been widely criticized by Democrats for hiring department officials with ties to the for-profit industry.

The secretary attempted to roll back another Obama-era rule on for-profit colleges, which allows students defrauded by their schools to seek loan forgiveness. But a federal judge -- siding with Democratic attorneys general from 18 states and the District of Columbia -- ruled that DeVos' freeze was "arbitrary and capricious" and ordered immediate implementation of the rule in October.

Still, claims for loan forgiveness had added up while the Department of Education fought the lawsuit in court. More than 150,000 people are waiting to hear if their debt will be canceled, and DeVos was sued again over the delay earlier this week.

The Department of Education froze the Gainful Employment rule about two years ago, and it has since been under review. It was never in effect long enough to result in any cuts to funding, but schools had published the data in 2017, before DeVos was sworn in. At that time, about 800 programs serving hundreds of thousands of students failed the accountability standards.

Together, the two rules were an important part of the Obama administration's crackdown on for-profit colleges like Corinthian and ITT Tech, which were accused of defrauding students and eventually shut down.

The Education Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

A FAMILY NOT TOO BRIGHT

WASHINGTON – The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee says Michigan’s Erik Prince — Betsy DeVos’ brother — needs to be investigated to determine whether he lied to Congress over a meeting with a Russian financier.   Speaking at a Washington Post Live event on Tuesday, Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., said the committee will make a criminal referral to the Justice Department about the possibility that Prince gave the panel false testimony.

Blackwater CEO and founder Erik Prince - Prince, a former Navy SEAL who grew up in west Michigan and went on to found the security company Blackwater, was mentioned prominently in the report by Special Counsel Robert Mueller in regards to a meeting he had with a prominent Russian financier with close ties to Vladimir Putin just before President Donald T-RUMP took office.

Hmmm Betsy give T-RUMP money, brother talks to Russians... this stinks higher than Norwegian frozen GRAVLAX left to rot in the sun...

THE BITCH TRIED TO KILL THIS BILL
The Department of Education said Thursday that it would wipe away student debt for 15,000 borrowers, implementing an Obama-era rule that Secretary Betsy DeVos has fought to block for more than a year.  The debt cancellations will total about $150 million.

The rule, known as Borrower Defense to Repayment, was designed to help students cheated by for-profit colleges get relief on their education debt.  The announcement comes about two months after  a federal judge ordered immediate implementation of the rule . The judge had sided with attorneys general from 18 states and the District of Columbia who sued DeVos for delaying the rule while she worked on rewriting it.

Those students who will immediately see their loans canceled were at schools that closed while they were enrolled. About half of the debt was owed by borrowers who attended one of the now defunct for-profit Corinthian Colleges.

The network of schools folded in 2015 after it was fined $30 million by the government for misleading prospective students with inflated job placement numbers. At the time, about 16,000 students were enrolled at its remaining 28 campuses.

But the rule also was designed to make it easier for students to apply for relief if they believe their schools misled them, by inflating job placement rates, for example -- even if they weren't enrolled when the schools closed.

Many of those students still have debt relief applications pending.

"This is a good first step, but it's not good enough," said Democratic Sen. Patty Murray, a senior member of the Senate committee on education, in a statement.

"I call on Secretary DeVos to abandon her attempts to rewrite the borrower defense rule to let for-profit colleges off the hook and instead fully implement the current rule and provide relief to more than 100,000 borrowers who were cheated out of their education and savings," she said.

The Department of Education will begin emailing borrowers on Friday to notify them that their debts from the loans will be canceled within the next 30 to 90 days.

DUMB SYSTEM NOW GETS A DUMB LEADER
Our exceptional children are dumbed down by useless learning systems, FCAT, No Child Left Behind and once again when Politics enter the classroom, or anything else lately there is failure.  We do not teach history and what has been our past and how it affects our future.

Ten years ago we led the world in learning in math and science and today we are in the middle of the  pack being beaten by countries you never heard of or couldn’t even spell their countries name.

How do US students compare with their peers around the world?  Recently released data from international math and science assessments indicate that US students continue to rank around the middle of the pack, and behind many other advanced industrial nations.

One of the biggest cross-national tests is the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA), which every three years measures reading ability, math and science literacy and other key skills among 15-year-olds in dozens of developed and developing countries. The most recent PISA results, from 2015, placed the US an unimpressive 38th out of 71 countries in math and 24th in science. Among the 35 members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, which sponsors the PISA initiative, the U.S. ranked 30th in math and 19th in science.

Younger American students fare somewhat better on a similar cross-national assessment, the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study. That study, known as TIMSS, has tested students in grades four and eight every four years since 1995. In the most recent tests, from 2015, 10 countries (out of 48 total) had statistically higher average fourth-grade math scores than the U.S., while seven countries had higher average science scores. In the eighth-grade tests, seven out of 37 countries had statistically higher average math scores than the US, and seven had higher science scores.

I MENTOR WHEN ASKED

I help mentor several middle graders on science projects,  and am amazed about how much knowledge they had about their project, but who knew little or nothing about World history, the American government and how it runs, yet we tell them they are exceptional …in what.  Three of the children were from other countries, refugees from China and India and they were brilliant for their age, well supervised by their parents and extremely computer literate and interested in worldly affairs.

In one classroom,  I asked several whom did we fight in the second world war and they did not know.  They are taught math and science to pass the tests, as an evaluation of the teacher.  Our entire education system is going down the toilet and TRUMP picked the worst possible looser to run the educational program in this country.

Not knowing history, she never attended any public schools, only allows us to make the same mistake over and over again.  Putting her in the drivers seat will ruin what little hope we have for a future resurgence in education.  She like TRUMP is in the 1% and does not care about the 99% of children who need public schools

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos struggled before a congressional subcommittee on Tuesday to defend the administration's proposal to cut at least $7 billion from education programs, including eliminating all $18 million in federal funding for the Special Olympics.

When Rep. Mark Pocan, D-Wis., a member of the House Appropriations subcommittee, asked whether DeVos knew how many children would be affected by cutting Special Olympics funding, DeVos said she did not know.  Pocan responded: "I’ll answer it for you, that's OK, no problem. It’s 272,000 kids that are affected."

DeVos then said, “  I think that the Special Olympics is an awesome organization, one that is well supported by the philanthropic sector as well.”  Pocan at that point interrupted the education secretary to say that the proposed budget includes a 26 percent reduction to state grants for special education and millions of dollars in cuts to programs for students who are blind.

After referring to his own nephews with autism, Pocan asked DeVos, “ hat is it that we have a problem with, with children who are in special education?"  She replied, “Supporting children with special needs, we have continued to hold that funding at a level amount and in the context of a budget proposal that is a 10 percent reduction.”  The congressman stopped DeVos and claimed she was not answering his question.

Pocan wasn't the only House member to criticize DeVos over the proposed cuts to special education.

Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., noted that past proposed budgets also attempted to eliminate federal funding for the Special Olympics.  "I still can’t understand why you would go after disabled children in your budget," Lee said Tuesday. "You zero that out. It’s appalling.”  Competitors in rhythmic gymnastics dance during the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on March 20, 2019.Karim Sahib / AFP - Getty Images

An administration official seemed to try to quell the backlash saying that DeVos donates her nearly $200,000 salary and the Special Olympics has been a recipient of that donation.  DeVos in a statement Wednesday defended the proposal to eliminate Special Olympics funding, saying it is "not a federal program."

"It's a private organization. I love its work, and I have personally supported its mission. Because of its important work, it is able to raise more than $100 million every year," DeVos said. Eliminating its federal funding is a matter of “ udget realities," she said, as the government is unable to fund "every worthy program."

Secretary DeVos Corrects the Record on T-RUMP

Administration  Support for Students with Disabilities

MARCH 27, 2019  Following is a statement from U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos:

"It is unacceptable, shameful and counterproductive that the media and some members of Congress have spun up falsehoods and fully misrepresented the facts.

"Make no mistake: we are focused every day on raising expectations and improving outcomes for infants and toddlers, children and youth with disabilities, and are committed to confronting and addressing anything that stands in the way of their success.

"The President's budget reflects that commitment. It supports our nation's 7 million students with disabilities through a $13.2 billion request for IDEA funding, the same funding level appropriated by Congress. All of that money goes directly to states to ensure students with disabilities have the resources and supports they need.

The budget also requests an additional $225.6 million for competitively awarded grants to support teacher preparation, research and technical assistance to support students with disabilities.

"The Special Olympics is not a federal program. It's a private organization. I love its work, and I have personally supported its mission. Because of its important work, it is able to raise more than $100 million every year. There are dozens of worthy nonprofits that support students and adults with disabilities that don't get a dime of federal grant money. But given our current budget realities, the federal government cannot fund every worthy program, particularly ones that enjoy robust support from private donations."

THE REAL STORY

Our future is doomed with this reject in the Cabinet  as the leadership pf the future for education.  Education, the US dropped from first in the world to 25-30 and now more lies - now hosted by a real nutcase typical T-RUMP appointee as she paid Trumps campaign a couple million dollars for the job.  The next generation is in jeopardy.

So Trump cut the budget knowing that she would not go against him.  She wants vouchers for private schools, more for the rich and nothing for the poor that would help.

No money for schools, teachers, and eliminate the department of education, he slashed the education budget by billions... Just another place Donald don’t think money is needed.

Our education standards are slipping badly and getting serious nationally.  So he puts an Evangelically declined Jesus juicer born-again fruit-keg in the Cabinet position not fit to run a lemonade stand in the desert in a third world country.

Legislation to foster school choice has not passed in Congress, although the new tax bill does allow families to use tax-free college savings accounts to pay for private, K-12 education.

Basically, the nutcase Trump hired to do the job, Betsy DeVos has more to worry about like being kidnapped and hanged, she is incompetent, arrogant, an Evangelical nutcase, a rich bitch who bought her job, many people feel, and not well liked.

Thats means she fits right in the cabinet.  Right now the status to better education, is do nothing, doing nothing, done nothing.  Our kids on the world scene are failing horribly...  Our kids and yours will suffer at her hands...

Slogans and chants, TRUMPS most dangerous device have meaning and are effective:  So I will in the best of Washington tactics offer a chant I heard when she went to a school in NY,  for Betsy Devos...”   Throw The Fake Trump Bitch Out”  I liked it...

Today, President Donald Trump and Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos released their proposed budget for the 2019 fiscal year. The T-RUMP administration’s budget proposal for this year makes strikingly similar drastic cuts to the administration’s fiscal year 2018 proposal, which represented the most devastating funding cuts to the US Department of Education since Ronald Reagan’s presidency.

MONEY FOR THE RICH, NONE FOR THE POOR OR THEIR EDUCATION

She with T-Rump will pass the good life of the rich to the burden of the future middle class if there is one.  She needs to be replaced, gone, forgotten about, removed, exterminated before any one kid in this country loses out because of her.
