HER LATEST - OCT 2013
Said Bachmann: "This happened and as of today the United States is willingly, knowingly, intentionally sending arms to terrorists. Now what this says to me, I'm a believer in Jesus Christ, as I look at the End Times scripture, this says to me that the leaf is on the fig tree and we are to understand the signs of the times, which is your ministry, we are to understand where we are in God's end times history."

COMMENTS FROM THE MASSES
• I think people are dismissing this too quickly. Yes, she is
bat-shit crazy, but we have known that for years. The key here is that the GOP
is really captured, controlled and driven by this bat-shit crazy evangelical
wing.
• We are going to have a debt default because these nut jobs are sure that we are at the end of times. They are sure that by forcing a default, they can bring about the rapture. The government closure and the debt default will bring about the economic version of the rapture.
• They and other "good" people will not suffer in the economic cataclysm only the evil liberal takers will suffer. The GOP has merged end-of-days theology with political and economic policy and for this reason, those unthinkable scenarios that most people think are still too horrible to happen will happen.
• This is why I am pessimistic for the economy, jobs, and the health of the country in the next decade. Yes, they are going to destroy themselves and the GOP, but they are going to take us with them to the "rapture" .
• The most powerful country in the world brought to its knees by the Republican Party. The world is certainly full of little ironies.
• Yes, and while in those breadlines we will be listening to
them lament how the end times came about because of the non-Christians.
• Lets hope they crawl on hands and knees to those bread
lines. I don't get where they are going with this end times bull-crap. Jesus
said only the Father knows when the world as we know it will end and I damn
sure neither Jesus or His Father, God is talking to these bat shit pseudo Christians.
• Jesus told us to turn our backs on them. One would think
with all the charges against her, she would keep a low profile, but no, she's
in front of every camera spewing her crazy.
• Not to defend Bachmann here (I really do not like her at all) but Bachmann comes from a Lutheran tradition. Lutheran Christians do not believe in the rapture. So this is not accurate. As I said, I do not like Bachman and I definitely do not support anything she does but what you are saying is not factually accurate.
• Well then she went totally off the rails somewhere.
• She is clearly spouting evangelical nonsense apparently not her "Lutheran tradition" teachings. Did she learn this stuff from her gay husband….Non, Marcus just does her hair and nails.
• Well obviously she no longer ascribe to Lutheran beliefs and has become one of those fundatalibanista tehajist. She's using Jesus' name for her own glorification and attention.
• She comes from either the Missouri or Wisconsin Synod, not E.L.C.A., so she reflects a sectarian Lutheran opinion.
• "Bachmann offered the prayer in 2006 (though the recording was uploaded in 2008). In it, Bachmann predicts, “We are in the last days,” and says, “The harvest is at hand” — a Biblical allusion to the Rapture when some believe God will take saved Christians...
• Regardless of whether she personally believes in the literal version of the rapture, my point is that she and the GOP have adopted a rapturesque view of the government and public policy. They think the existing establishment is corrupt and rewards takers (godless non-believers) while punishing the makers (those who are good, believe in Christ). They have decided that by destroying the government and the economy, they can bring about an economic and political version of the rapture - no fire and brimstone, but a new world order in which they and other good people will be rewarded. They don't see danger, only an ascension to a better world or those who deserve it .
• She is taking God's name in vain. Then we will be added to the list of nations throughout history that succumbed to religious fanaticism. We are fighting them now.
• As a Christian, it makes me mad that some people out there impugn the Christian faith by trying to tie it to the extreme right. Not all Christians are conservatives! I am a proudly liberal supporting abortion rights and gay marriage and yet I am also a Christian. Any conservative whack job that doubts my faith because of this is not a very good Christian themselves because they are judging me!
• There are no true Christian who are conservatives. This country could use a lot more Christians like you; especially Arizona!
• I am Catholic and know well the difference between 'true' Christians and the false Christians. We all know they are not what they claim to be. No need to be upset, we'll continue to call them out.
• It is the Christian conservatives who impugn their own religion by wrapping themselves in Christ while acting in such un-Christlike ways. I rather admire true Christians, and I think very few of them are conservative.
• Politically, the most dangerous ideological phenomena to arise in the past 25+ years or so is the Christian dominionism movement.
• The Far Right, hyper-evangelical charismatic Dominion Theology is a virulent form of theocratic fascism, and we are now seeing the culminating flowering of the Teahadist mindset: A willful desire to sabotage all Constitutional balance and global U.S. financial legitimacy in the name of their deluded world-view.
• For people such as these, suicide is the gateway to Heaven, just like any two-bit run-of-the-mill messianic cult. Michelle Bachmann, Ted Cruz (whose father is a Christian charismatic Dominion Pastor in Texas), Louie Gohmert, and their ilk are simply the new Jim Jones's of the latest wing nut Rapture and they're doing everything they can to make everybody else drink the Kool-Aid.
• Problem is....so few Americans really know about the Dominionist Movement and what it's all about. Where the hell is the press and media in exposing it. Unless Americans really want a Christian version of Iran or Afghanistan.
• You nailed it. Radicals of any religion - Islamic, Jewish, Christian - use their professed love for god to justify hate, violence, and intolerance.
• It would be fun to pulverize a caricature of (Bachmann)* whereby afterwards she is permanently removed from the public eye. That's what I want.
• Like expunging Akhenaten by systematically mutilating his cartouches? Akhenaten tried to get Egypt to drop polytheism and worship a single god, Aten. The priests didn't care much for him. Soon as he was safely out of the living world, his name was expunged from inscriptions as a way of erasing his afterlife.
The name, or "ren," was one of several components needed to make a complete person. To destroy the name was a powerful attack upon the dead king. Steve Allen's ghost whispers in my ear one of his formula jokes: "And if you've ever had your cartouches mutilated, you know how painful that can be."
• It was sort of the ultimate de-legitimization/nullification. Not only are you dead, but we're going to make it such that as far as everyone is concerned, you were never even born. Sort of a retro-active abortion.
• I might want to throw a shoe at her.
• Make no mistake, people like Bachman are doing great damage to this country, maybe not on the scale of some of the despots but she and the others are doing great damage. Make no mistake. We're in complete agreement that Bachmann is both deranged and very, very bad for America.
• I am with you Michele, praise Jesus, and I know if you were to climb to the highest building and jump off a cliff whole bevy of angels would catch you and safely deposit you on earth to prove you are indeed God's chosen messenger on earth. I mean, it wouldn't be my fault, it would be the angels for not catching her, right? And no, I don't wish for her to die. I want her to live to be 120 and still looking out that window waiting for Jesus to come as her gay, happily married, black male nurse tends to her in her nursing home.
• She's a loathsome waste of air and I'll be right there with you. But she still gets to waste that air until her allotted years run out. How about an "involuntary commitment" to a Mental Hospital? It would be a good thing for her and us if this could happen.
